With all the malware, viruses, worms, and Trojans out there these days, it is absolutely imperative that you take every step necessary to protect your computer. In fact, it’s not just your computer that is at risk—your very identity may be at risk.

Hackers make millions of dollars every year stealing peoples’ information on the Internet, and you don’t want to be another victim. Uniblue’s Registry Booster 2010 claims to be another powerful tool in this cause.

Your computer’s registry is a part of the hard drive that is often overlooked by most casual PC users. As such, many software programs are designed to embed themselves in your registry so that they are not easily deleted.

Even when you uninstall, add/remove software in your Control Panel, or even manually delete the files in you Program Files folder there will still be lingering bits left over.

These bits accumulate and over time, may slow down your computer considerably or cause other problems. A registry cleaner is therefore necessary.

Uniblue has a pretty good history of reliable products, so going in I wasn’t too skeptical. I went to their website to do a free scan first and found some garbage in my registry that needed to be disposed of.

If the free scan finds nothing, of course, you’re in the clear! I had no such luck, so I downloaded Registry Booster and gave it a shot.

Like the best software out there, installation took virtually no time at all and when the program loaded it asked me if I wanted to perform a scan right off the bat. Eager to get this over with, I did so.

I knew it was going to take a while, so I went and did some other stuff while it was scanning. As with most such programs, it’s not a good idea to have other programs open (surfing the Internet on IE or Firefox, for example) while performing a scan.

When I got back, the scan was done. Registry Booster 2010 had found a considerable amount of errors and there was a huge button that said “Clean Registry” that made it pretty clear what came next.

When you click on this button, a window appears advising that you create a registry backup in case something you need gets inadvertently deleted. I’ve had some miserable experiences with such things before, so I clicked “Yes” and Registry Booster created a backup for me then cleaned the registry. The program then called for a restart, which I did.

Registry Booster also comes with a defragmentation feature, which also helps boost system performance. I regularly use the defrag feature that comes with Windows, but decided to use Uniblue’s defrag feature as well for the heck of it. Every little bit helps, right? The defrag took a little bit, of course, and I had to restart again.

Uniblue Registry Booster Summar

I have to say that my PC is definitely running faster after using Uniblue’s Registry Booster. I don’t claim to understand every last little nuance about computers, as I’m just a casual techie, but this software made a difference.Vista comes loaded with so much junk it makes me want to pull my hair out at times, and this registry cleaner has made things run much smoother. Registry Booster is only $29.95, so it’s worth every penny considering what it does for you. Overall, I highly recommend it for anyone that wants to improve their computer’s speed and performance. It’s a great tool for somebody that isn’t all that knowledgeable about their PC, but just wants the darn thing to work!

I think the program sucks. It was instaled on a Dell Dimension 5100 along with the drive scanner. It said there were 7 critical errors and only fixed two of them. You had to buy the advanced version to fix the rest. While it was fixing the computer, it moved the files to anywhere it like to. It took out all the programs from the Start menu and when you looked at the C: drive there were no files visable. You had to set the folder veiwing to show hidden file before you could see them. Nothing is in the right folder. It is a plain mess and I will most likely have to back-up what I can and reinstall everything. I wouldn't give this program to my worst enemy.
    hatefully yours,
