Nuance PDF Create Box Shot

Despite the fact there are many other file types great for word processing, PDF files are still popular for use as pre-print files because of the many things you can do using them. They are great for arranging text, pictures and tables in a format suitable for professional printing. As such, many users will need to convert their files into PDFs if they wish to have the material published. Nuance’s PDF Create 6 is the perfect tool for the job.

Acrobat has dominated the PDF industry for years, and has made a killing selling their software for hundreds of dollars per copy to large corporations that don’t mind spending the money. It was just a matter of time, however, before a smaller company came around to compete, and it looks like Nuance is the one. Nuance’s PDF Create 6 sells for almost 1/10th the price of the Acrobat equivalent and performs all the same functions.

As far as what the software actually does, this newest version is easily the fastest, most intuitive PDF creator we’ve ever used. Yes, Nuance has had some stability issues in the past with previous versions, but they’ve listened to their customers and cleared all that up. Now, with just one click you can create a PDF out of your other files, and it’s super fast; you’ll be surprised. The PDFs it creates are viewable in virtually any PDF viewing program. We only used Acrobat, and it worked just fine.

Another great feature they’ve added to PDF Create 6 is batch creation—the ability to combine multiple files into one PDF. This is great if you have many files kind of haphazardly scattered around your PC. With this software, you can combine them all into one PDF and sort them all out there, rather than sorting through multiple files and trying to figure out what’s what. This feature also allows you to create PDF packages that are compact enough to email. This is great, as you no longer need to “zip” files to send them. As more and more companies get on board the software-creation bandwagon, I look forward to seeing more software that essentially combines multiple software programs into one, rather than trying to sell us multiple packages and make more money.

By and large, Nuance PDF Create 6 is a great program for anyone involved in publishing, or even for personal use by people that have to handle multiple files (including PDFs), for whatever reason. The best thing about this software is that it is intuitive. There’s nothing worse than a great program that you can’t figure out how to use. These days, if you’re software gives people headaches when their trying to learn how to use it, there’s another program right around the corner that can do it better. Therefore, you need to be as user-friendly as possible; and Nuance delivers. If you have an entire team that you need to train on this software, I have a feeling that you’ll have little trouble doing so.

Even if you are just looking for a PDF creator for private use, PDF Create 6 is a great investment. It only costs $49.99, so it’s not like the arm and a leg that acrobat will charge you. If you need to combine multiple Word files or want to create a scrapbook out of all your JPEGs or other pictures, this is a great program to have.

Basically, no matter what you need to do with PDFs, Nuance’s PDF Create 6 has you covered. It comes highly recommended, so give it a try!
