Xilisoft Video Converter Review Box We’re all looking forward to the day when there is just one ultimate video format that we all use for every application, but in the meantime we have to deal with a dozen or more different formats that at one point or another give us all headaches. Do you think that all you have to do is plug a device in or download a video and play it? Oh no, you have to make sure you have the right codec! This is just the basic appeal of a video converter, but there are lots of other things you can do with one. Let’s see how Xilisoft’s Video Converter Ultimate stacks up.

Getting the software set up and running was a snap, which is imperative in this day and age. If a user can’t even get past that step, there’s no need for the software. There’s no excuse for that, but it bears mentioning.

Video Converter Ultimate is very easy to use and does all the work for you

After messing around a bit with Video Converter Ultimate for a few minutes I thankfully found the interface to be very intuitive and easy to grasp. After doing a lot of reviews for a lot of software, this is one of the first things that I look for and always mention in any review. In my mind, you can have the best software in the world, but if people can’t figure out how to use it you’re up a creek. Video Converter Ultimate is very easy to use and does all the work for you.

Convert files to iPhone, Xbox, PSP, PS3, iPod, MP4 players and cell phones

The main thing Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate does is video conversion, and it does it well. It can convert files commonly found online to formats viable on an iPhone, Xbox, PSP, PS3, iPod, MP4 players, and cell phones.

Be aware, however, that video conversion does take time, so if you are going to convert a large file, you’re probably going to walk away from your computer for a bit while the software does its work. The end product, however, will play just like you want it to.

One cool added feature that Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate has is audio conversion. It may seem like an afterthought, but there are some video converters that don’t have this feature. As can be expected, the audio converter doesn’t take nearly as long as the video converter – but it is just as hardy and useful.

HD conversion is supported in most popular formats

Some other cool features to round out the package include the fact that HD conversion is supported in most popular formats. Maybe I’m a bit spoiled, but I enjoy watching things in HD. I firmly believe that once you get into HD it’s hard to go back – you’ll notice the difference.

Editing option that allows you to clip, split, merge, and add special effects and watermarks

Other great features include an editing option that allows you to clip, split, merge, and add special effects and watermarks to your videos. It may not be as in-depth as other video editors, but that’s not what this software was wholly designed for. Regardless, these features work great, though the learning curve is a bit steeper than standard video conversion.

Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate Summary

For the $55 price tag, I’d say that Video Converter Ultimate is definitely worth it. This software is a godsend for many folks and they’ll willingly pay whatever they need to for it. It has a ton of great options that will allow the program to really pay for itself in the long run. I foresee users getting a ton of mileage out this software – especially if they deal in a lot of video and audio files. With this software, you can put all your video files into one easy format to do with whatever you like, which is virtually indispensable in some circles.
