not knowing what OS you’re running get into the bios setup and look on the bottom of the screen and press the F-key for fail-safe defaults then press the F10 to save and reboot. if you’re running XP look in the event viewer in the control panel under administrative tools look in there for red icons and that might tell you where the problem lies either hardware or sotware

Software will not fix a hardware problem, but you need to be more specific to figure anything out.
