Computer messed up – maybe virus?

I have windows 98. My quick launch icons dont appear and i cant get then back- even tried properties. When I go to display properties, its different and messed up. When I double click on my computer, and then go to file, it wont let me go to properties. When i even click the properties icon, nothing happens. Also, after this happened, i downlaoded a registry booster for win98 and when i double click it- it says: This program cannot be installed on a Server edition of Windows. Nothing has ever been wrong when i download stuff. Any1 know wat is wrong and/or how to fix this?

Just reinstall.

Definitely sounds like your Windows got messed up somehow. I’d back up all your important stuff and try doing a reinstall of Win98.

you have a virus,run your anti virus,remove them,or restore your computer to a date BEFORE u noticed the trouble
