The even worse scenario, however, is the threat of identity theft. Hackers, no longer satisfied with just causing chaos and headaches, have taken to stealing people’s information off their computers and using it to make exorbitant purchases and the like, completely ruining innocents’ lives. Everybody knows about the importance of antivirus protection. If you are online (and everybody is) or somehow otherwise connected to other computers and devices (once again, who isn’t?) you are at risk. Believe it or not, there are people out there that design malicious programs just for the sake of it. Quite often, however, such programs are even more insidious; designed to steal information from the user. There are a lot of programs out there that are competing for the position of “top antivirus software,” but Norton was one of the first and still remains at the top of the heap. Let’s see how their newest version holds up to scrutiny.

In the world of interactive reports, it is extremely imperative that you be able to customize them and convert them into other formats. Failure to do so will result in your company falling behind the pack of competitors that have taken the time to make their product more interactive and user-friendly. DVD looks like it may slowly be going the way of VHS and Beta, but this may be a good thing in this “in-between” period for users. Burning DVDs and making copies is becoming less and less frowned upon as Blu-Ray bullies its way into mainstream with its greater capacity and better looking picture quality. DVDFab’s DVD to DVD is a program that sets out to make the whole process of copying DVDs that much easier. Let’s see how it does.
Installing DVD to DVD is about as easy as you’d expect, and so is the interface. This sort of program isn’t too clunky, so the programmers would really have to screw up bad to do this wrong. The interface is elegant and plain-spoken. All the buttons are clearly labelled and won’t leave you wondering what to do next.

Anybody that’s ever tinkered around with some video files online or with a portable device knows that there are seemingly millions of different formats that you have to deal with. It’s not as simple as “plug and play” like you may have been led to believe. Many devices or file formats are not compatible – sometimes purposely so. Thankfully, there are some video converters out there, such as the AVS Video Converter, that are made to streamline the whole process and put an end to the headache.

The modern PC is a chaotic jumble of old files, fragments of unwanted software and spyware. If you don’t know what you are doing and don’t take heed to the many warnings out there, you’ll find yourself with a virtually useless computer that is bogged down with tons of garbage or worse. Thankfully, there are some great programs out there that can help. Uniblue’s PowerSuite (which consists of Uniblue’s other programs, SpeedUpMyPC, RegistryBooster, and DriverScanner) is one of the newest weapons in this fight – let’s see how it measures up.
Installation with this software is as easy as most software these days and doesn’t require much on the part of the user. Whenever it prompts you to click “Next,” you click it. It’s that simple. Uninstalling is just as simple and complete, leaving nothing lingering on your PC. This is the whole reason for this type of software (getting rid of leftover junk), so it’s good to see that it doesn’t perpetuate the problem.

If you’ve ever had to tinker around with video files before, at one time or another you’ve come across format issues. You get quite the headached trying to hunt down the proper codec or player so that you can view a particular file. The good news is that there are video converters out there, such as MovAvi’s Video Converter, that are able to take such files and turn them into files that you can actually use. How does this software match up with the competition? Let’s find out!
MovAvi ‘sideo Converter, thankfully, is a snap to get up and running. Believe it or not, there are many times that I set out to do a review and find a piece of software that is wholly unusable. This program, however, was different. After getting it going, I found the interface to be very smooth and intuitive. The built-in player is particularly nice. This handy feature lets you preview your videos right then and there without starting up another program.
